Music and why it’s not only the worst movie of 2021 but one of the worst movies ever made.

This definitely shouldn’t be a surprise, the writings were right on the wall as soon as this movie released. Not a single movie in 2021 held a candle to how horrible Music really is. We should start right from the beginning of why this movie is such a failure, first and foremost the casting. When the first trailer was released for Music there was a lot of concern and backlash when it was shown that Maddie Ziegler plays an autistic person…this was just the tip of the iceberg. When Sia was asked about this she made a ton of different excuses and stories that didn’t add up, now instead of you know taking the criticism like any person should. Sia decides to tell an autistic actor who gave very fair criticism “maybe you are just a bad actor” and not only does Sia say that. She goes on a rant and responds with “Grrrrrr. Fuckity fuck why don’t you watch my film before you judge it? FURY.” Gee Sia I wonder why people are reacting this way, maybe it’s because you are acting so unprofessional and bashing the very community you supposedly made this movie for?

What made this situation even worse was Sia’s fanbase who rather than actually listen to autistic people (such as myself) about how this movie is dangerous and not representative of Autistic people decided to attack, send death threats and try to take people’s Twitter accounts down over criticism. It really showed that not only stan culture is a huge problem but it also shows how normalized ableism really is. When I wrote my piece about Music I got my fair share of messages saying disgusting garbage that I don’t want to repeat here, when Music finally did release it was completely destroyed across the board and rightfully so. I don’t like rooting for a movie to fail, but this was an exception.

Now let’s talk about the movie itself, for starters as I hinted at before Music was not made to be representative of Autistic people it was made for Neurotypical people who like to boast about how they sat with an autistic person at a lunch table once and never spoke to them again. Then they proceed to share this movie and say how “powerful it is.” Heck sometimes these said people flat out bully autistic people but swear up and down they care. Music is inspiration porn and it doesn’t even try to hide it, let’s talk about the acting..it’s dreadful there isn’t one performance here that feels genuine, Maddie Zegler looks like she doesn’t want to be there (and given the fact she was pretty much forced into this role I don’t blame her.) Kate Hudson is dreadful and Leslie Odom Jr’s performance is very awkward. The direction from Sia is quite honestly some of the worst I’ve ever seen from a director, there isn’t any amount of care, talent or interest shown. I also don’t care if Sia claims she did “years of research” because her directing or the movie doesn’t show that at the slightest. For starters the “meltdown” scenes are played as entertainment it straight up mocks real situations like this and there’s no lesson learned. Then there’s the prone restraint scene, when I first watched this movie back in February I had to pause the movie for a good five minutes because I was so angry about this scene. Prone restraint has KILLED autistic people and has been proven time and time again that it shouldn’t be done, so what does the movie do? It basically says “this is what you do to autistic people when they are going through trauma or a bad episode.” What this tells me is Sia didn’t bother to do any research, or didn’t bother to make her direction into something that could be learned.

Finally there was also no excuse

Run released in November 202 which starred Kiera Allen a actress who uses a wheelchair, it was met with very positive reviews (one of my favorite films of 2020)

A Few months before The Sound Of Metal was released and that had deaf actors plus Riz Ahmed was actually taught sign language for his part in the movie. Sound Of Metal went on to getting nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars!

Best Summer Ever was released 2 months later in April which actors and actresses who have disabilities the film was reviewed very positively and is one of my favorites of 2021! (I highly recommend checking it out it’s quite amazing)

CODA which was released in August 2021 had def actors and is a film that was met with so much love and care that it could end up in the Oscar’s best picture lineup (its doing very well this award season)

So it’s amazing to me how Sia miserably failed at doing research, it just leads back to my main point about this movie….a lack of research and caring. From it’s acting, writing and directing Music is by far the worst movie of 2021 and is something I truly hope nobody ever repeats again.

This might not have damaged Sia’s career but this movie sure did destroy not only her credibility but her reputation as well. And that is why Music is the worst movie of 2021..

Top 100 Worst Movies Of 2021! (#25-#2)

First things first I want to explain why I’ve decided to give number 1 it’s own post. Those of you who know me probably already know what number 1 is going to be. And as I said at the beginning of the list nothing on this list not even the last entrees were even close from beating what’s at number one. Usually it’s close in most other years but not 2021. The main reason I’m giving number one it’s own post is because of how terrible, how ignorant, and down right disgusting plus ableist the movie is (by that you should know what it is) and I don’t think a segment is enough to explain how bad it is. I would be completely slacking off and not addressing a huge issue that still goes on in the film industry if I just slapped it at the end of the list. Plus I want dissect the movie as much as possible to explain how and why it’s one of the worst and most disgusting movies ever made.

With that explained we are at the bottom of the barrel, the movies I consider to be the absolute worst to come out of 2021, I will say that this was the easiest worst list I’ve ever put together. I moved maybe one or two movies around but even then it was a slight change. With that said let’s do this.

25. American Refugee – The third and final Blumhouse and EPIX collaboration of 2021 on the list, I was debating if The Deep House was going to American Refugee spot but I decided against that for one major reason. With The Deep House at least there were some decent shots and idea that could have worked, American Refugee doesn’t even try with it’s own idea and instead plays a very bad horror thriller. Plus the script was quite honestly one of the worst I hard last year.

24. Locked Down – Hey remember when this released? This was the other Doug Liman movie that came out last year, Locked Down is a prime example of how NOT to do a movie about COVID-19. Outside of Chiwetel Ejiofor and Anne Hathaway the rest of the movie is complete and total garbage. The film itself for whatever reason is also really ugly, the style they went for just did not work here at all and the writing feels completely soulless. Halfway through the movie it completely switches genres and becomes a heist movie…it makes little to no sense at all.

23. Injustice – I’m honestly not sure how you mess up an animated adaption of Injustice but here we are I guess. Injustice feels like a clipshow of scenes taken out of context and put together as a movie, which will definitely confuse people who are unfamiliar with Injustice. The tone of the movie switching from being incredibly dark to a Saturday morning cartoon is very awkward and destroys a lot of what would be very tense moments or impactful scenes. It’s just such a huge disappointment, this is something that could have been absolutely incredible but instead ends up being one of the worst movies of 2021.

22. Shook – I love Internet based horror films, but this was just a complete a misfire. It has a very strange fascination with dead dogs which it uses for shock value. I still have no idea what the writers were going for here, I mean yes influencers do get stalked however this movie did a very piss poor job of showing or telling that. Spree did a far better job of showing and telling the problems with Social Media. Shook just felt like a movie that used internet themes but didn’t showcase anything interesting at all, plus it doesn’t help the acting is horrendous.

21. The End Of Us – Another movie about COVID-19 that was made by Buzzfeed Studios….that’s a recipe for disaster and sure it enough the movie is horrible. The humor is pretty much the same type of humor Buzzfeed puts into their videos, the same annoying “look at this It’s relatable” type humor. In fact that’s what the movie tries to push, for the viewer to somehow feel like this movie is relatable. Only that doesn’t work because this movie comes off as very fake, like it just came out of a bubble gum commercial. The writing is beyond awful it’s single handily some of the worst of 2021, I have nothing else on this one.

20. Space Jam: A New Legacy – You know what I’m just going to post my review here, because I said it best there and I really don’t have anything else new or interesting to say except this is one giant product placement. And that this is the type of filmmaking I absolutely despise. Enjoy my review of it I did back when it came out! Look I’m not going to act like the first movie is some sort of masterpiece, in fact I’m not even a fan of the first movie It was one of those movies where I liked it as a kid but now it’s really not good. However the first movie at least tried (Michael Jordan was horrendous however) the same can’t be said for Space Jam: A New Legacy. So to start off if you spent time on Twitter and saw the number of cameos in the movie…it’s just as painful as they look. Each and every single one of them feels forced, the cameos in question is pretty much anything that Warner Bros owns from Rick And Morty, Mad Max Fury Road, Superman, Austin Powers and several others heck during the basketball game you can see numerous characters like The Iron Giant, The Flintstones, Batman villains, the Clockwork Orange crew (yes Alex and his gang are for whatever reason there) and a ton of others. I feel like my friend said it best about this movie “this is the equivalent of a rich kid coming into show and tell and instead of showing one item he or she decides to show like 50 items.” This is the type of filmmaking that I consider not filmmaking, it’s nothing but a million dollar studio looking down at the audience and saying “look how much IPs we own!!” The worst part about it is none of these cameos do anything for the story at all, they are all just there without any rhyme or reason. The only thing I can say I liked in this huge mess was the animation, I thought it was actually well done and gave the characters the energy they usually have. There were one or two jokes that were okay but the rest of the jokes didn’t land at all, I know I say “this movie was not funny” quite often but trust me when I say that a majority of these jokes were horrendous. During the first act of the movie they already use a Big Chungus meme which completely comes out of nowhere, let’s get to the acting, writing and story. The acting is complete garbage LeBron James’s performance was quite awful, it feels like he’s not trying at all, with no energy or effort put into it at all. On the other hand Don Cheadle gives a “it’s so bad it’s hilarious” type performance he truly looks like he’s having a blast which is something refreshing to see, the writing and story are both terrible and a complete total mess. Random plots just happen for no other reason which brings me back to the cameos, you can feel the desperation in the writing when it comes to the cameos to the point where it’s embarrassing. Did I forget to mention that it’s 2 hours long? A huge giant commercial for HBO Max and the rest of Warner Bros IPs, with horrendous pacing that feels like you are sitting through a 4 hour commercial on loop.

19. Red Notice – One of the most soulless and manufactured action movies in recent memory, between the chemistry from Ryan Reynolds, The Rock and Gal Gadot plus the incredibly poor pacing it’s excruciating to sit through. It’s everything you have seen in a action movie done 20x worse. Not much else to say here.

18. Cinderella – The movie that united all sides of Twitter to absolutely destroy this movie and rightfully so. I was considering putting this in the top 10 but it managed to get beaten. The several problems with Cinderella include, James Corden, the CGI Mice looking like a very early PS2 game, the movie feeling very cheaply made, the writing being absolutely horrendous and worst of all the jokes. As I said in my review if I have to hear James Corden joke about how proud he is of his “front tail” ever again I’m going to quit reviewing movies

Finally we are at the movies I gave my lowest rating, the “disgrace to cinema” rating! Which in most other years I gave a lot more movies that rating in a year, in 2021 I only gave 17 movies that rating. Which is both kind of shocking yet amazing probably because 2021 was just a fantastic year for film but we will get to that later this month! Let’s dive in and finish this.

17. The Reckoning – Neil Marshall use to be a director I looked forward to when he was releasing films, unfortunately that all changed when Hellboy (2019) happened and then soon after The Reckoning. The Reckoning is a horrendous movie that often forgets what it’s set out to do, the “burn the witch” genre has been done to death numerous times and here it combines every last cliche in the book, what seals this movie’s fate is the garbage writing. A lot of the writing makes little to no sense and it keeps having to remind the audience about simple plot devices that we are already fully aware of, the acting is just as terrible with little to no direction and every single one of the actors and actresses failing to bring any sort of energy in their roles.

16. Safer At Home – Another movie about COVID-19, this time it tries to be Host (2020) but completely fails at doing that. It takes place on a Zoom call which worked for Host due to fantastic acting and writing, this is not the cast for Safer At Home. Poor acting, poor writing and all the characters feeling like the same really drags this movie down.

15. Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City – I did a review for this one a few weeks ago, so I really don’t have any new thoughts about this one so I’m just going to post my review and move on. Resident Evil and live action movies have never been good friends, the Paul W.S. Anderson Resident Evil movies were trying to go for something completely different rather than follow the video game franchise which I guess is okay except they weren’t good. Then the announcement of a more faithful adaptation to the franchise was said and I got my hopes up, the problem? It’s directed by Johannes Roberts director of the two 47 Meters Down movies, The Other Side Of The Door and The Strangers Prey At Night (which I actually thought was okay.) The movie itself feels like it was made for TV and someone saw a few cutscenes of the first games online and decided to make a movie. The biggest issue with this movie was that it tried to tackled both the first game and the second one, Resident Evil is not the type of franchise where you can just skim through it and hope for the best. There’s so much detail, character growth and important moments that are completely missing because of this. The acting is dreadful and the portrayals of each of the characters are incredibly awful, it’s definitely not the actors fault it’s mainly due to how incredibly lazy and just downright awful the script is. For a movie that’s 1 hour and 47 minutes long this feels like an eternity, it’s not fun, it’s not interesting, the atmosphere is all over the place and doesn’t feel like Resident Evil at the slightest. The movie does show a few big moments from the games, however they aren’t done well at all as I said before it feels like they just watched some cutscenes online and decided to make the movie. It doesn’t explore much context behind the moments or any development, it’s truly one of the laziest ways to go about making an adaption that’s claiming to be more faithful to the franchise.

14. The House Next Door: Meet The Blacks 2 – Yes because there was such a high demand for Meet The Blacks to get a sequel, I don’t even know what to say about this one. At least the first movie knew what it was a parody of, this one just throws anything at a wall while making little to no sense at all. I honestly couldn’t tell you what exactly happens in this movie because the story itself is just very poorly written.

13. The Kissing Booth 3 – The fact the Kissing Booth actually became a trilogy is just absolutely maddening, this movie somehow manages to be even worse than the last one. A lot of this movie comes down to being melodramatic about almost anything that happens in the movie, the writing is absolutely garbage with very little substance at all. The characters aren’t given any proper character development or don’t feel like actual people. The most positive thing I can say is that it’s the last of these movies.

12. Aileen Wuornos: American Boogywoman – Ah Daniel Farrands always making it at so far on these lists, while this movie isn’t as bad as the other movie Farrands came out with in 2021. It’s still horribly acted, written and directed. Peyton List is horribly miscast and the movie has this failed high school film project type feel to it.

11. Ted Bundy: American Boogyman – What I just said about Aileen Wuornos; American Boogywoman can be applied here. They are the exact same movie but the plots are about different serial killers, Farrands directing style is still ugly and continues to prove why he’s one of the worst directors working today.

10. Home Sweet Home Alone – This movie has some of the worst writing I heard in 2021, the movie is an embarrassing attempt to cash in on a popular name. The jokes feel dated as a handful of them are memes, the acting is horrendous and the movie itself feels like a giant waste of time.

9. Diana: The Musical – How is this even real?

8. Behind The Sightings – This is another case of the history of a movie being far more interesting than the movie itself. Making a found footage movie based on the Clown Sightings of 2016 is a really interesting idea that definitely had tons of potential. Unfortunately Behind The Sightings completely falls flat on every single level to deliver, right from the beginning the acting is already at a huge low point it feels like nobody tried. It doesn’t get any better at all either, the writing is a huge mess filled with annoying characters and tries way too hard to be scary by using endless amount of jumpscares that you can see coming miles away. What’s even worse is the pacing, it’s amazing that this is a 81 minute movie but feels like an eternity. It’s dreadfully put together so many scenes that feel unnecessary, the last act of the movie is nothing but screaming that tries way too hard.

7. Separation – Marriage Story if it were a garbage horror movie, William Grant Bell continues to prove how he’s one of the worst and most uninteresting horror directors working today. Separation is a disastrous mess, right from the beginning you feel the cheapness of this movie, it feels like something that should have went straight to DVD but this actually got a theater release. The acting, writing and the direction are all terrible, which is expected at this point from Bell but with this movie I would argue it’s even worse. Everyone involved either sounds bored as hell or isn’t even trying, there are some interesting ideas somewhere in this movie that I definitely thought this movie was going to do something with. But that doesn’t happen unfortunately.

6. Karen – Yeah I got nothing, I truly got nothing. The title of the movie and the plot really speaks for itself, the movie isn’t subtle at the slightest between the music and the garbage writing. It’s nothing more than horrible horrible exploitation of racial discrimination that’s seen on a daily basis.

5. Night Of The Animated Dead – it’s basically a poorly done animated version of Night Of The Living Dead, the only main difference is more blood but that really doesn’t matter here, this is nothing more than to cash in on a popular name. Hoping to sucker people into watching it.

4. He’s All That – I’m very tired of studios or companies trying to insert influencers into movies who clearly can’t act. It’s been proven time and time again that this doesn’t work, Even if you take Addison Rae out of the movie it would still feel like a soulless remake to She’s All That. There’s nothing in this movie that works at the slightest, having Rachel Leigh Cook and Matthew Lillard in the movie was nice but they weren’t anywhere near enough to save this movie.

3. After We Fell – Congratulations the After series this is the first time since the movie series even started that these movies haven’t been the worst film of the year (After being the worst of 2019) and (After We Collided being the worst of 2020) but make no mistake this one is still really bad. This one is basically a bunch of laughably bad sex scenes and arguments and it goes on and on till the movie ends. After We Fell also feels the most like a fanfiction of the 3 movies, oh yeah and the line “sexy popeye” is used…

2. Run Hide Fight – Ah yes the movie Dailywire picked up the rights to, I’m going to post my review here because I have nothing more to say. It’s a horrendous movie that pretty much says “school shootings aren’t that bad!” There are several huge flaws that are just flat out embarrassing, first off the editing is atrocious. It almost feels like it wasn’t made by a human, or you know someone didn’t bother to look over the editing and just called it a day. The editing also makes the pacing very awkward at times, you can go from one scene with two people talking to all of a sudden a shooting with no real build up. The movie portrays school shootings in a very distasteful way, not to mention almost of the scenes in this movie would never happen during a school shooting. It uses a very serious topic that is still going on today in America and tries to play it off as “see school shootings aren’t so bad if you defend yourself!” The acting and writing are both just horrible, I know Isabel May is trying to give it her all. But not even she can really save it, the writing feels like a first draft to a school play. It has absolutely no substance to it at all, it doesn’t try to bring up any other solution other then “throw guns at the problem” plus the characters just feel incredibly unrealistic. There’s this one scene where Isabel May is trying to warn one of the teachers who’s teaching a class through a window that there’s a school shooting. The teacher flat out doesn’t listen and close the blinds…I’m sorry but that would never happen, the fact they try to pass this scene off as realistic is really disgusting to me. If you take out all the clear “let’s make this to dunk on the other side” points it would still fall flat, what your left with is a horrendous Die Hard clone. I truly believe there is better ways of talking about school shootings film, this just isn’t it at all. In fact this is a prime example of what NOT to do.

And that’s all for now! Next time I talk about number one and why in my opinion is one of the worst movies ever made.

Top 100 Worst Movies Of 2021 (#49-#26)

Welcome to part 3 of the list, we are reaching near the end of the list and a lot of the movies you are thinking of that haven’t appeared quite yet are more than likely going to appear in this part and the last part! Reminder we are still in the movies I gave a 2/10 range, meaning there’s a few good things about the movie but are overall horrendous! Let’s get this started!

49. The Unholy – I wouldn’t blame you if you completely forgot this movie came out, it came out in April a month that was overall a very quiet month for movies. The only positives for this one is the cinematography and Jeffery Dean Morgan, outside of that it’s one of the most forgettable and cliched religion horror movies in recent memory. The writing choices are completely bizarre, the character development is nonexistent and the movie is filled to the brim with jumpscares.

48. The Little Things – I remember when this movie was actually talked about quite a lot before suddenly disappearing…..and for a good reason. The Little Things wants to be Se7en so badly, the first draft for this movie was actually written in 1993 with a lot of directors passing on the project. While Denzel Washington’s performance is actually not too bad, Jared Leto’s performance really sinks this movie. The movie is also missing of what made Se7en so great…character development, great characters, twists and so much more.

47. Dear Evan Hansen – I’m not going to go on and on about this one for too long, because so many people have already talked in great lengths about it. Outside of a few performances and some of the songs being genuinely great, the movie itself is destroyed by the writing issues coming off as very out of touch when it comes to mental health issues, it doesn’t help that the movie is ridiculously long and feels like a chore to sit through. I definitely respect that the story of Dear Evan Hansen actually has helped people it’s just not for me at all.

46. The Addams Family 2 – This movie somehow ends up being worse than it’s predecessor, it once again puts a lot of jokes that just don’t match the style of The Addams Family. Between “squad goals”, a Billie Eilish joke and “I’ve always practiced social distancing it becomes a complete and total mess. The plot is also your basic family road trip movie and does nothing different at all, outside of a surprisingly catchy cover of “I Will Survive” there is nothing to this movie.

We have finally reached the movies that just missed my lowest ranking we are entering the movies that received a 1/10!

Also Speed round incoming of movies I didn’t give full reviews! Skip to #41 if you want the longer segments again!

45. The Princess Switch 3: Romancing The Star – It’s almost the exact same thing as the last two movie, again why are these movies on Netflix instead of Hallmark?

44. Red Woods – A found footage movie that REALLY wants to be The Blair Witch Project, it’s filled with cliches such as the characters feeling like any other found footage movie characters. The acting isn’t great and the writing is a complete mess.

43. Inheritance – Another typical bad thriller with Lilly Collins and Simon Pegg being the only good parts about it.

42. Intrusion – Suffers from the exact same problems Netflix’s other terrible thrillers did such as Secret Obsession, terrible writing, acting and a very predictable ending. Oh yes and it feels like a LifeTime Channel movie…yep it’s one of those.

41. Sky Sharks – The history of this movie is more interesting than the movie itself, being delayed several times since 2017 then going into complete silence until a few weeks before it released! The concept of Nazi sharks could have been hilarious if they actually focused more on the sharks, I will give it credit when the sharks are on screen it’s hilarious due to how poor the special effects are. However you are better off watching Sharknado.

40. The Resort – Look I love low budget movies but there comes a point when the writing and acting are so piss poor that it ruins the entire thing. The location is very nice but everything else is a mess.

39. Stay Out Of The Attic – A movie that tries to be Don’t Breathe but fails to understand what made Don’t Breathe so great, terrible acting and very stock characters.

38. Phobias – What a waste of potential, an anthology about different phobias? That’s a brilliant idea, sadly it’s poorly executed with bad acting and writing.

37. Infinite – Oh yeah this is the movie where Mark Wahlberg gives one of the most awkward voiceovers I’ve heard in a movie in recent memory, outside of Chiwetel Ejiofor this movie has nothing going for it at all. It’s a painfully horrible paced Sci-Fi movie that is no different than any other movie of the genre that came before it. It doesn’t help that Wahlberg gives one of the worst performances of his career, it’s a shame because Antoine Fuqua is a very solid director (Training Day, The Equalizer, it’s Sequel and Southpaw) this just feels like it’s done by someone complaining different.

36. Fear Of Rain – I really don’t have anything interesting to say about this one outside of the movie’s portrayal of Schizophrenia is very stereotypical.

35. Rock Dog 2: Rock Around The Park – I asked this in my review but it needs to be asked once again “who asked for this?” Some crappy animated movie from 2017 got a sequel in 2021 and well nobody talks about it. As for the movie itself there really isn’t anything noteworthy to say, the animation looks like something you would see on of those YouTube Kids videos. The writing is terrible, the character models are even worse and it’s painful to sit through.

34. Bliss – I’m all for Owen Wilson trying something completely different but he feels so out of place here, Bliss can be written down as something I like to call release date fodder. Which means a studio putting something out they know is going to fail or is just a bad movie because they need something to release. Oh yeah and the fact this movie is a terrible version of The Matrix doesn’t help at all.

33. Paradise Cove – I’ll give the movie this the director definitely improved from his last movie which was that awful 9/11 movie with Charlie Sheen. Outside of that it’s another terrible thriller let’s move on.

32. Great White – A shark movie that for whatever reason wants to be serious and complete bonkers and utterly fails at it. It doesn’t help that the sharks aren’t even the main focus of the movie, instead it’s a bunch of melodrama that I can 100% say with certainty that the audience watching this movie did not come here for. There’s definitely some it’s so bad it’s hilarious moments but that’s not enough to save this one.

31. America: The Motion Picture – This movie ultimately boils down to someone’s bad fanfiction of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, it’s also equivalent to one of those early 2010s adult animated shows that were painfully unfunny and edgy for the sake of being edgy.

30. Cosmic Sin – It’s one of those Bruce Willis and Lionsgate movies, just by that you already know how bad this movie is. These movies are getting progressively worse and worse as they release, the only positive here is Frank Grillo. As for the rest of the movie? It’s the exact same thing as any of the other ones that Lionsgate released, except the plot is tweaked a bit, but the same cheap editing, horrible acting, writing and direction are still present.

29. Father Christmas Is Back – Kelsey Grammer shitpost.

28. Joe Bell – Honestly I feel like my review of this one sums this one up very well so I’m just going to post it here enjoy! Joe Bell is a movie where at first glance it seems like it’s trying to be meaningful and heartwarming but when you actually sit down and take a closer look at it that’s just not true at all. The only thing I can give this movie is Mark Wahlberg gives a fine enough performance and trust me when I say that isn’t enough to save this movie, my biggest issue with this movie is that it really tries to hammer in this idea that “at least I’m not AS homophobic as those guys” look I’m all for redemption stories, people can change it’s part of the human nature. However this feels like a very ignorant and a tasteless way of doing that. It doesn’t help that the writing is terrible and is a complete and total mess, the LGBT character is sidelined in favor of the father who’s homophobic. It feels like another inspiration porn but this case this movie was made for some straight people to pat themselves on the back. What makes this even more tasteless and honestly very uncomfortable is that this is based on an actual suicide, so not only is the movie just bad in general due to poor direction that has nothing to it at all. It completely fails at treating the true story with care, as for the rest of the movie it’s honestly shocking of how cheaply made despite a $33 million dollar budget (according to Deadline) I’ve seen films with a much lower budget that don’t feel anywhere near as cheaply made as this. As I said before the writing is a complete and total mess, it feels like nobody looked this over and just went with it.

27. Chaos Walking – Here we go, Chaos Walking is another one of those Young Adult Sci-Fi adaptions that completely failed. From its writing to its acting and it completely not taking advantage of it’s interesting ideas, Chaos Walking feels like a chore to sit through. Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland are clearly trying their best with what they are given, but Doug Liman’s direction here is just terrible, which pains me to say given how much I love some of his work especially Edge Of Tomorrow.

26. The Deep House – This is another one of the Blumhouse and EPIX collaborations this movie is basically 47 Meters Down and it’s sequel except without sharks and instead has haunted house elements. What kills this movie is the characters constantly saying “oh my god we have to get out of here!” Over and over again, it drives you to the point of wanting hit your head against the nearest wall. Some of the filming is quite nice but good lord the acting is dreadful.

And that’s it for part 3 of the worst list! Next time we will cover #25-#2! I know what you are thinking and I’ll explain why I’m giving number one it’s own post next time!!

Top 100 Worst Movies Of 2021 (#74-#50)!

Hello again and welcome to part 2 of the worst list. Last time was pretty straightforward, we haven’t gotten to the REALLY bad movies quite yet, we are still in the range of “a few positives but overall forgettable and not good”. Let’s continue on shall we?

74. Don’t Breathe 2 – Trust me I wanted to put this so much lower on the list, but there are a couple positives that are keeping this movie afloat. Stephen Lang does a decent job and the kills are actually pretty neat. Unfortunately Don’t Breathe 2 completely goes against everything that made the first film so great, it tries to turn Stephen Lang’s character into an anti-hero but completely fails at doing that. It’s also one of those horror sequels that feels completely empty, which is incredibly disappointing.

73. Diary Of A Wimpy Kid – As I said in my review this is basically the live action 2010 movie but In animated form and it’s somehow worse, I honestly couldn’t believe how bare bones this actually felt when I watched it, it doesn’t have the charm, humor or fun factor the 2010 did. Really don’t have much else to add on.

72. Voyagers – Remember when this came out? No? Well me neither, it was until I actually read my review for it that I start to remember it. There was a giant amount of potential here but the movie is basically Lord Of The Flies but in space and it’s nowhere near as interesting. The acting and writing both fall incredibly flat and the direction is all over the place, there’s some nice elements visually but that’s not nearly enough to recommend this.

71. Snake Eyes – I’ll give the movie this…it’s the best G.I.Joe movie!! Henry Golding is actually not too bad as Snake Eyes, however like some of the other action movies I’ve talked about so far on this list it suffers some of the same problems. The action scenes are horribly filmed due to the very shaky camera, it’s almost next to impossible to make out what’s going on. Lastly the movie just feels like another terrible summer action blockbuster, it does nothing to differentiate among others unfortunately.

70. Spirit Untamed – My main question after watching this movie was “why?” Plus I really don’t exactly know what to say here, it’s a bad animated movie that tries to please fans of the original movie and tries to please fans of the Netflix series. I really don’t know what else to say here.

69. Seance – Simon Barrett is very talented it’s just a shame his talent wasn’t shown in this movie.

68. Agnes – Outside of some decent performances from Molly C. Quinn and Hayley McFarland the movie ends up being a complete and total mess. It feels like two completely different movies the first half being a laughably bad horror movie and the second half feeling like a nothing special about it drama. Sean Gunn for whatever reason shows up.

67. Butchers – Discount Wrong Turn with some good gore…Next.

66. A Glitch In The Matrix – A interesting premise for a documentary that sadly feels uninformative, it uses no factual evidence instead it uses YouTube videos or videos from other sites that have been debunked numerous times. There’s a few cool bits in there such as some neat robot costumes that I’m sure had a lot of work put into them. You will more than likely get more out of a conspiracy theory post from Reddit than this movie.

65. Last Call – A terrible comedy that has some decent acting but unfortunately follows some exact same plot lines as other movies only it does them worse.

64. Thunder Force – This is another attempt by Netflix to try and capitalize off of the superhero genre…if you have seen any Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy comedy you have already seen this one, Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy actually try their best with what they are given and the movie itself isn’t as bad as some of Falcone’s other movies. But it’s still a very unfunny mess that uses the same old jokes (McCarthy falling over) as the other movies do, the superhero elements are very surface level and don’t add anything to the movie.

Now we are getting into the next tier of movies which this one is “movies that have one or two positives but are ultimately really bad”

63. Falling – I can perfectly understand why someone may like this movie, however it completely falls flat for me. The only huge positive I can give this movie is the acting is quite great. The problem is the writing and messaging of the movie comes off as very awkward and quite uncomfortable (and not in the good way) lots of slurs, racism and so on is spewed and the problem is the movie tries to justify this by having a very half ass lesson about forgiveness. It isn’t explored not nearly enough to have a conversation about it, ultimately very forgettable.

62. Dreamcatcher – A very empty slasher film that presents very interesting ideas such as taking place at a music festival. But it doesn’t do anything with that concept and goes in the traditional bad slasher movie route.

The next batch of movies are ones I didn’t give a full review to for obvious reasons so excuse the very short segments. (skip to #56 if you want to see the longer segments again.)

61. The Last Mercenary – A terrible French comedy that has Jean-Claude Van Damme, very unintentionally hilarious but definitely not a good movie at all.

60. Held – Discount Saw movie, only positive to say is the acting. Otherwise it’s Saw but more stupid.

59. Paranormal Prison – A terrible found footage horror movie that for some reason gives the characters uninteresting and long backstories.

58. The Devil Below – Really not much to say here, The Devil Below is about as painfully nothing special as you can get, it starts out way too slow and never picks up until the tip end of the second act. But by then the movie has already lost your interest, the writing is horrible and predictable the acting ranges from bad to very below average.

57. Vanquish – This was a movie I felt like putting much lower on the list, but it does have it’s positives such as Ruby Rose, Morgan Freeman and the surprisingly decent cinematography. Like the last four entrees this is yet another movie I did not give a full review and rightfully so. It’s another terrible action thriller from Lionsgate that has big name stars to sucker you into watching it.

56. Tom and Jerry – I was heavily debating if I should keep where this movie is or put it lower on the list, but when compared to some of the other movies that will appear later on the list it seems like a masterpiece. Anyways Tom And Jerry is actually looked somewhat decent from the trailers but unfortunately falls into the early 2000s family movie hole and not in a good way, between the movie opening with a rapping bird, the unfunny jokes that are told every 0.2 seconds and the acting even from great performers such as Chloe Grace Moretz and Michael Peña feeling incredibly phoned in. The movie is a huge mess that completely misses the point of what made the original Tom And Jerry cartoon so loved, giving this project to Tim Story was a huge mistake.

55. Mainstream – is a movie that should have been really good, Nat Wolff and Andrew Garfield are both great here. But unfortunately this movie feels like if that one kid in computer class who always made their project filled with flash effects made a movie. The social media aspect is incredibly outdated and is very weak when compared to other films that have tackled the social media subject so much better.

54. Finding You – 119 minutes of a whole lot of nothing, the writing is the worst part about this movie. It feels like someone wrote a fanfiction and accidentally sent it to a film studio, way too many subplots happen with very little conclusion and you have uninteresting characters.

53. Outside The Wire – Anthony Mackie and Damson Idris have great chemistry and both gave genuinely decent performances, but like some of the other Netflix films I’ve talked about so far on this list it feels very bare bones. Between uneven pacing and very cliched characters, this is one that did have potentially but ultimately missed it’s mark.

52. Prey – A terrible survival movie that does nothing new for the genre (yet another one I didn’t give a full review)

51. The Ice Road – Liam Neeson has his good performances and his bad ones….this is one of the bad ones, an action thriller that feels almost identical to every single one of the movies Neeson has been in the last 7 years. The movie tries to ground itself as realistic but throws every ridiculous scene that comes right out of nowhere. The best way to describe The Ice Road is if The LifeTime Channel decided to make action films instead of whatever the hell they make.

50. Black As Night – Here is the other “Welcome To The Blumhouse” movie that made the list. Black As Night tries to be a clone of Vampires Vs The Bronx, from the jokes, to plot elements and so on. It feels like any other vampire movie you have seen before but only done far worse. The action scenes aren’t too bad but everything else is very disposable and just not at all worth looking in to.

And that is it for part 2, I wanted to make this part very straightforward as it was the middle of the list and as you can see a bunch of the entrees were short. Next time we will cover #49-#26!

Top 100 Worst Films Of 2021 (#100-#75) + Introduction.

So here we are again another year finished, so it means end of the year lists time. I do want to point out that this is going to be the last year where I’m doing a worst list…and no it isn’t because it’s “too negative” or a bunch of people on Twitter complain about worst lists. It’s that I’ve been finding it very hard to do them the last couple years. What I will do starting next year and going forward is list a bunch of terrible movies that pissed me off and put it into one post. I’m only doing a worst list this year because of a few movies that we will get to later on. Now unfortunately there’s two movies that couldn’t make the list due to them not releasing this year which they are Asking For it and Mother Schmuckers two movies I saw at festivals this year. Had they come out this year both of them would have made at least the top 20 but still would not have touched number 1. Outside of that the only other rule I’m including is movies that I’ve seen, which by this point should be obvious. One last thing, we are going to plow through the first several entrees on the list mainly due to there really not having a whole lot to say about some movies, there will be definitely cases where I’ll go into detail about other films. Anyway let’s get started..

100. The Seventh Day – This is one of those movies where I didn’t even bother to give it a full review and for a good reason. It’s the most lazy type of Exorcism film you can think of, everything you think is going to happen does in fact happen. The few saving graces about this movie is Guy Pearce (for some reason he’s in this), Stephen Lang and the writing not being the complete worst.

99. Cherry – Cherry is one of the biggest disappointments of the year, it’s not entirely bad Tom Holland is clearly trying his best with a very surface level script, Ciara Bravo’s performance is just downright painful to watch and listen to and then there’s the pacing that’s incredibly slow. Ultimately what lands Cherry on this list is how much of a complete and total mess it really is, there were way too many ideas thrown into the movie yet none of them were presented in a compelling or interesting way.

98. The Starling – Speaking of disappointing movies here’s another one. I really wanted The Starling to be another “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” Moment for Melissa McCarthy, unfortunately that’s not what happened here. While yes Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd both give genuinely good performances they also have great chemistry with one another. As well as some very decent music as well. What kills The Starling is how it tries to be both a film about a tragic loss and a comedy, the movie doesn’t do that well at all. It’s as I said in my review, one moment you have a scene talking about a tragic death and in the very next scene you have Melissa McCarthy getting attacked by CGI birds. The comedic tone just overshadows the rest of the movie unfortunately.

97. First Date – I’m still trying to figure out what exactly they were going for with this one, it has a promising start but quickly falls into the “terrible” territory between characters with no development, very uneven pacing, budgetary constraints clearly holding this movie back from being decent and a very sloppily put together third act. The movie is ultimately a huge mess.

96. Caught By The Wave – God we are only four movies in and this is already the second film on the list that was released by Netflix. Long story short this is another one of those Fault in Our Stars clones or “sick boy/sick girl find love” movies. There’s literally no difference from this movie or The Fault In Our Stars except the acting isn’t as good and the writing is far weaker.

95. Black Friday – This is a prime example of a great idea done in the most laziest way possible, there’s definitely fun moments to be had. But between the characters bringing nothing new to the table and it being a horror comedy that quickly runs out of steam. It ends up being a complete and total mess. Bruce Campbell and Michael Jai White are the best parts about this one.

94. Trust – Yet another movie I didn’t give a full review and yeah I can see why. Victoria Justice does her best but the plot makes little to no sense and character development is nowhere to be seen.

93. The Arbors – ANOTHER movie I didn’t give a full review for, this movie is pretty much any straight to VOD thriller that have come out in last 5 years. What’s baffling about this one is it’s unnecessary almost 2 hour running time.

92. Bingo Hell – Here is one of the two “Welcome To The Blumhouse” movies that made the list, while the performances from Adriana Barraza and Richard Blake were genuinely fun. The rest of the movie is a huge mess, it goes for this B movie feel but wants to take itself seriously, which is very strange considering the premise of the movie. It’s nice that they centered the movie around senior citizens however they deserved a far better movie.

91. Earwig and the Witch – Remember when this released? I completely forgot about this movie until I started making this list, this is easily the weakest of Studio Ghibli’s films and it’s not even close. The major problem with this movie is nothing happens and it goes completely against what makes Studio Ghibli so great, there’s just no magic in it’s story or characters which is truly unfortunate. I know they wanted something different with this movie, but it just backfires in every single way possible.

90. Hypnotic – Another movie I didn’t give a full review to and another Netflix movie, it’s by the same directors of “The Open House” and while it is better that doesn’t mean it’s good. It’s another thriller with good ideas but executed in a very terrible way.

89. Here Today – The movie suffers the exact same problems as The Starling did but on a much bigger scale, Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish have great chemistry and give genuinely good performances. The balance of comedy and serious moments is horrendous, it ruins potentially sweet moments by making them incredibly awkward due to the humor. Very unfortunate because this could have actually been something great.

88. Mosquito State – The movie is interesting visually and has some nice stylistic choices but outside of that such as the writing it’s not strong enough to carry the movie…not much else to say here.

87. Night Teeth – A very forgettable vampire movie that made it sound like Megan Fox and Sydney Sweeney had actual big roles even though they are barely in it. What you are left with is a few decent performances from Jorge Lendeborg Jr and Debby Ryan and a few okay death scenes, it also tries to be so many different genres at once but fails.

86. A Week Away – “Christian Camp Rock” is the best way to sum up this movie, it wants to be Camp Rock so bad but completely fails. Granted there are fun moments but not nearly enough to save this movie.

85. The Virtuoso – Anthony Hopkins shitpost (he’s the only good part about this movie)

84. A Nightmare Wakes – Another movie telling the story of Mary Shelley, would be interesting if this hadn’t been done to death or the movie said something interesting. The pacing is horrendous as it doesn’t give enough time for a scene to develop.

83. An Unquiet Grave – Feels like a short film that went on for way too long, despite it being 72 minutes it feels way too long due to very bad pacing, it has good ideas but ultimately don’t amount to anything.

82. Blithe Spirit – Outside of Judi Dench and the production design this movie feels like a chore to sit through, really not much else to say.

81. Enhanced – This is literally low budget X-Men combined with any Sci-Fi film you have seen before.

80. Yes Day – I can’t believe people are still putting The Gummy Bear song in movies in 2021 but here we are, outside of Jenna Ortega and Jennifer Garner everything else in this movie is just bad. It feels like a terrible early 2000s family movie that somehow got released in 2021. The director Miguel Areta who did Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day directed this movie. Which despite the movie having no relation to Alexander they feel like almost identical movies.

79. A House On The Bayou – Spoiler alert all three of the Blumhouse and EPIX film collaborations made the list, House On The Bayou is the least bad of the three but is still a complete total mess. The acting is laughably bad, the writing is terrible and feels like the equivalent of an essay that starts out really good and understandable but then out of nowhere it becomes a pile of complete nonsense.

78. Demonic – A lot of people probably expected this to appear much later on the list given my review, however while it is indeed bad there’s far worse. Neil Blomkamp was once one of those directors that a lot of people were predicting to have this “best working today” status but slowly that started to fade away. I was excited for Demonic since it was his first full length feature since 2015. Like Chappie this movie falls into the exact same hole, having very interesting ideas but executing them poorly, the whole dreamscape demonic possession ends up turning into something that’s all too familiar. And the script doesn’t give the actors enough to work with, it’s such a bare bones movie and has nothing to add to the already crowded demonic possession genre.

77. Jolt – The Taken 3 effect is in full force with this movie, make your action scenes as unrecognizable as possible and have some painful to watch editing that ultimately hurts the viewer’s head. Outside of a few moments and Kate Beckinsale there really isn’t anything too this movie. Finally the movie ends up being another action movie that does nothing new at all.

76. Kate – I put Kate and Jolt next to each other because they are almost identical, Jolt being the better of the two but not by much. The problem with Kate is like Jolt feels like every single action movie that came before it, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson are both great but that’s where the movie ends in terms of positives, Kate is ultimately an action movie with a very weak script that doesn’t offer anything new to the genre.

75. The Woman In The Window – For the final entree of the first part of the worst list we are going to end on this one. This is one of those movies that was stuck limbo thanks to COVID-19 it was eventually released by Netflix, which ended up being one of the most disappointing movies of 2021, it’s basically another Rear Window but worse. I’ll give the movie this it has some “it’s so bad it’s hilarious moments” but that isn’t enough to save this movie what ultimately saves this movie from being any lower on the list is the third act…in seconds it goes from a very uninteresting Rear Window clone to a hilariously bad movie that you could laugh at with friends. The characters are terrible, the suspense is nonexistent and the writing is just downright awful.

And that’s it for the first part of the list! The next part will cover 74-50! Stay tuned!!

Licorice Pizza is a masterful film from Paul Thomas Anderson!

The story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine growing up, running around and going through the treacherous navigation of first love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973.

Paul Thomas Anderson once again does a successful job of bringing the viewer into his world and the film’s world. In this case 1970s San Fernando Valley it instantly draws you in with beautiful filming and incredibly well done shots. The film itself feels very dreamlike but at the same time feels very real once it starts to get down to the meat of the film. Alana Haim gives one of the best performances of the year, this is her debut role and her talent is on full display. She goes all out with her performance and truly delivers. She plays Alana a character who is still trying to figure herself out in the world, then there’s Cooper Hoffman (the son of the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman) who is absolutely fantastic as well, he plays Gary Valentine a teen who’s very charismatic. Gary is 15 and Alana is 25 it’s story about how said relationship can’t happen (due to obvious reasons) but tells that in a interesting way, both capture the mannerisms of a teen and adult and show how completely different each one is. The style of the film is truly beautiful, it’s shot on 35mm film while using older lenses in order to create the film’s 1970s texture or give it that type of feel. The film at times feels like a fairytale mainly due to the style of the film and the brilliant screenplay from PTA, the writing truly reflects the 1970s and goes for an incredibly raw feel that’s all the more powerful. The editing is spot on, it helps create a ton of character moments that give the viewer a lot of information about the characters, how they feel, what they are thinking and so on. It’s one of the strongest cases of character study I’ve seen in a film this year, Bradley Cooper is also an incredibly fun addition to the cast. He truly brings a lot of energy and humor to the film that truly captures the film’s mood, the use of color is masterfully done. So many scenes pop out to the viewer and many more scenes just stick with you, Licorice Pizza is one of the best crafted films of 2021 and it’s easy to see why, from the filming, editing, color, story, acting and so on. PTA truly creates a film that is truly special, it’s the type of filmmaking that truly makes you proud to be a fan of film!

Licorice Pizza is playing in theaters!

Encanto is a magical ride for all the right reasons!

The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift — every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger.

The last half of 2021 has really delivered a ton of surprises when it comes to film and Encanto is absolutely no exception. Before going into the film I was prepared for another nothing special about it Disney film that wouldn’t do anything interesting. Encanto is quite different, first off the characters are all actually really well done. The writing for this film feels much more grounded and feels like the writers wanted to give the characters their own personality and dive more into said personalities rather than just list them and that’s it. It really dives deep into family themes such as relationships and how families can be flawed, when you compare Encanto to a lot of other Disney films that have released over the last few years you can tell it’s very different. The world building is also quite incredible, it shows both the light and the dark side of the world and establishes early on how much the world means to the characters. The music is some of the best from a Disney film in quite awhile, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s choice of music is absolutely spot on and matches the tone, energy and style the film is going for. Which leads to the cast who have beautiful singing voices and completely hit it out of the park when it comes to emotions, each song really hits the viewer with a different emotion. As well as each song having it’s own identity with a lot of energy and strength put into them, overall Encanto is truly a charming film that surprised me. It’s one of the best films of the year make sure to watch this one.

Encanto is available on Disney+

Don’t Look Up is a satire that misses it’s mark.

Two low-level astronomers must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth.

Let’s just get right into it, Don’t Look Up is a film that is just a complete and total mess. A few things I actually do like include, Jennifer Lawrence’s performance which it’s great to see her get back into acting it’s just such a shame the movie itself isn’t good. I liked the more quiet moments between the characters, during those moments it felt like the movie was trying to say something meaningful but then goes right back to being a unfunny satire. Lastly there’s the final 20 or so minutes that were genuinely interesting with actual decent writing and character moments….it’s too bad the rest of the movie couldn’t had been like that. As for the rest of the movie it’s a complete and total mess, I understand that the movie isn’t trying to be subtle at all, but this just goes beyond that. It treats the audience like they are dumb and explains way too much meanwhile trying to be a satire that isn’t funny at all. Most of the performances are terrible, while some are definitely better than others a lot of them feel either phoned in or just reach the line of coming off as very annoying. Lastly it feels way too long with such dreadfully slow pacing, there’s a ton of scenes that could have easily been cut and feel like nothing more than to act like it’s somehow having a hidden meaning. Overall Don’t Look Up is a complete and total mess, which like Being The Ricardos I have no idea why this is being celebrated when it comes to the award season.

Don’t Look Up is available on Netflix!

Spider-Man No Way Home is a love letter to the entire Spider-Man franchise (Spoiler Review)

With Spider-Man’s identity now revealed, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Before I begin I will note that it will be next to impossible to talk about this movie without mentioning spoilers so if you haven’t seen the movie yet I would recommend not reading this review.

Phase Four when it comes to film has been rough. Shang-Chi as I said in my review is an incredibly solid film up until the third act, Eternals was incredibly disappointing and Black Widow was just there. So I was really hoping Spider-Man No Way Home would come out and wow me…and that it most certainly did. So starting off let’s discuss characters and performances, Tom Holland as Spider-Man is still fantastic. He truly puts everything he has in this film and it delivers in every single way possible, Zendaya’s character Michelle gets far more development than she has in the other films which is something that I’m glad they did. Granted it was one of the more predictable aspects (not in a bad way) like of course she was going to get more development it’s the third Spider-Man film in the MCU. She completely grows as a character and doesn’t feel like she’s being shoved off to the sidelines, I really don’t have anything interesting to say about Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch once again does the role really well and doesn’t over stay the welcome. Finally let’s talk about the villains plus Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man and how they are used plus compliment this giant film. I’ll start with the one who got the least development which was The Lizard honestly he’s about the same as he was in The Amazing Spider-Man, there really isn’t a whole lot to his character and that was really to be expected. Next up is Electro and Sandman who I both feel are around the same level when it comes to development, for one thing Jamie Foxx is far better as Electro here than he was in Amazing Spider-Man 2. A nice reference to Sandman’s character growth in Spider-Man 3 is shown during a scene where he teams up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to fight Electro (although he does become somewhat evil again but we will get to that.) Lastly there’s Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Who all have an incredible amount of development, Alfred Molina once again is perfect as Doc Ock and although he isn’t a huge part of the film. I truly love what they did with his character, once again the film acts as a continuation to Spider-Man 2 with his character. He was a man corrupted by his inventions deep down he wasn’t demonic like the next character The Green Goblin. Willem Dafoe truly owns the role of The Green Goblin I truly can’t picture anyone else in the role, the film does such a good job showing how evil he really is and shows why he is the most threatening of the villains. He has all the villains besides Doc Ock go completely mad and attack, the strongest parts of the writing come in when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield come in. Not only do we get to see both of them again but we get to hear how they are doing, what’s changed and so on. The film acts as a continuation to their stories, even the little conversations end up meaning quite a lot. One important rule when it comes to a team up sort of element is to never have one part of the certain team or character overshadow the other. And I feel No Way Home does a fantastic job of doing that, Tobey, Andrew and Tom’s version of Spider-Man feel equal one doesn’t feel far stronger than the other. The jokes in the film are actually quite fantastic, there was a lot of charm put into them that I can’t help but smile at. The ending is truly hard hitting and definitely one of the more emotional moments that have happened in the MCU thus far, it’s hard hitting change that has this sense of moving on from memories. Overall Spider-Man No Way Home is a huge celebration of Spider-Man it’s a fantastic film that’s hands down one of the best the MCU has to offer!
