Most Anticipated Films Of May 2024!

April is over and now we are headed into the summer movie season. April was quite a fantastic month for film, between Challengers, Abigail, The First Omen, Hundreds Of Beavers, Sasquatch Sunset and Civil War there was so much to really love. I still have two more reviews from April (Challengers and Civil War) to post which will be posted either today or tomorrow so keep an eye out.

May looks like another really solid month, while I don’t think it’s as filled to the brim with releases as April. It makes up for it with having some of the most anticipated films of the year such as Furiosa, I Saw The TV Glow and Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Before we get into the list we have a film that I saw at Sundance last year that’s finally coming out which is…

Slow directed by Marija Kavtaradzé: it’s a beautiful showcase of intimacy and why it’s important, the performances are excellent, the film discusses and explores asexuality in a very honest and beautiful way. I said in my review that it’s the most raw and tender approach to the topic I’ve ever seen in a film and that remains true a year and four months later. So be sure to check it out when it releases in theaters May 3rd!

Now on to the list

11. Jim Henson Idea Man – May 31st (Disney+)

10. The Idea Of You – May 2nd (Amazon Prime Video)

9. Ezra – May 31st (Theaters)

8. Wildcat – May 2nd (Theaters)

7. Babes – May 17th (Theaters)

6. Robot Dreams – May 31st (Theaters)

5. The Strangers: Chapter 1 – May 17th (Theaters)

4. Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes – May 10th (Theaters)

3. In A Violent Nature – May 31st (Theaters)

2. I Saw The TV Glow – May 3rd (Limited Theaters) and May 17th (Expand Theaters)

1. Furiosa – May 24th (Theaters)

And that’s the list! Let’s have another excellent month for film!! Cheers!!

Most Anticipated Films Of April 2024!

March kicked things up quite well when it comes to film Dune: Part Two, Immaculate, Love Lies Bleeding and One Life were all really great films. April is looking to repeat that with a surprising amount of great looking films coming out.

I say surprising because April is usually served as some sort of dumping ground (not always) for films that didn’t quite make the summer movie release, but it seems like this time around we are getting a little bit of everything and some highly anticipated films of the year.

16. The Greatest Hits – April 5th (Theaters) and April 12th (Hulu)

8. The People’s Joker – April 5th (Theaters)

7. Sasquatch Sunset – April 12th (Limited Theaters) and April 19th (Expands Theaters)

6. Civil War – April 12th (Theaters)

5. Abigail – April 19th (Theaters)

4. Challengers – April 26th (Theaters)

3. Monkey Man – April 5th (Theaters)

2. The First Omen – April 5th (Theaters)

1. Humane – April 26th (Theaters)

Most Anticipated Films Of March 2024!

February flew by and was an overall okay month for film. How To Have Sex (first 10/10 of the year) Lisa Frankenstein, Cobweb, Marmalade, Orion and The Dark and Suncoast were the standouts (I have not seen Drive-Away Dolls yet). With the rest month not being particularly very great, still better than January that’s for sure.

March is when we get into some of the most anticipated films of the year both for blockbusters and indie films. Some films not on the list such as Kung Fu Panda 4 (I just think it doesn’t not look that great) and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire (I’m not into the series that much) are highly anticipated from fans. Let’s get into the list.

14. The Animal Kingdom – March 15th (VOD)

13. You’ll Never Find Me – March 22nd (Shudder)

12. The Listener – March 29th (Theaters)

11. In The Land Of Saints and Sinners – March 29th (Theaters)

10. Spaceman – March 1st (Netflix)

9. Shirley – March 22nd (Netflix)

8. One Life – March 15th (Theaters)

7. Late Night With The Devil – March 22nd (Theaters)

6. Cabrini – March 8th (Theaters)

5. Problemista – March 1st (Limited Theaters) and March 22nd (Wide Theaters)

4. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire – March 29th (Theaters)

3. Love Lies Bleeding – March 8th (Linited Theaters) and March 15th (Wide Theaters)

2. Immaculate – March 22nd (Theaters)

1. Dune: Part II – March 1st (Theaters)

Most Anticipated Films Of February 2024!

January was a long tiring month, while it wasn’t the absolute worst movie wise (there’s been far worse lineups in the past) it still was incredibly lacking. Luckily February seems a lot better and has some chances to have some really great films!

13. Jennifer Lopez: This is Me Now – February 16th (Amazon Prime Video) – Excited for this one because the trailer is well…very bizarre.

12. Madame Web – February 14th (Theaters) – I’m hoping this is so bad it’s hilarious territory.

11. History Of Evil – February 23rd (Shudder)

10. Bleeding Love – February 16th (VOD)

9. Out Of Darkness – February 9th (Theaters)

8. Suncoast – February 9th (Hulu)

7. Cobweb – February 9th (VOD)

6. Lola – February 9th (VOD)

5. Fitting In – February 2nd (Theaters)

4. Orion The Dark – February 2nd (Netflix)

3. Lisa Frankenstein – February 9th (Theaters)

2. How To Have Sex – February 2nd (Theaters)

1. Drive-Away Dolls – February 23rd (Theaters)

This month I will also be posting my Top 30 Best Films of 2023 list so stay tuned for that!

Most Anticipated Films Of January 2024!

2024 is looking to be such a great year for film, the lineup in certain months and a lot of films that are confirmed to release this year but don’t have a release date is insane….but first we have to get through January.

A lot of the films on this list are technically 2023 films, just ones that got a limited release or are being submitted into the Oscars best foreign film category. If I left out those movies there would only be 5 movies on this list.

Before I start there is one film coming out this month that I saw last year at Sundance that I absolutely recommend checking it out which is

Sometimes I Think About Dying – A fantastic film that I think a lot of people are going to find incredibly relatable. Excellent performances from Daisy Ridley and Dave Merheje, very stylish shots with a lot variety and some quite fascinating character work. If you get the chance make sure to see this one January 26th.

Now the list.

10. Miller’s Girl – January 26th (Theaters) honestly I’m only seeing this for Jenna Ortega and I do hope it’s trashy fun.

9. He Went That Way – January 5th (Theaters) and January 12th (VOD)

8. Destroy All Neighbors – January 12th (Shudder)

7. Good Grief – January 5th (Netflix)

6. The Kitchen – January 19th (Netflix)

5. I.S.S. – January 19th (Theaters)

One final thing, I’m going to be posting my Top 30 Best Films of 2023 probably towards the end of the month. There’s a few more releases I want to see before finalizing the list.

Most Anticipated Films Of August 2023!

A new month is here and looking at the film release schedule it’s most definitely on the weaker side this month unfortunately. While there are some pretty great looking ones, a lot of the main theater releases really don’t look that great if I’m going to be honest. Having that said there’s always a chance for hidden gems and plus there are some films that look genuinely great!

Before we start as always here’s the movies that I’ve already seen that I highly recommend checking out if you can

Mutt – August 18th (Theaters)

Also worth noting that I did not put Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on here because it already came out, I completely forgot that it came out yesterday.
