Most Anticipated Films Of February 2025+Announcement!

Well here we are in February, after such a slow month we can now move on to February. But before the most anticipated films list a few things.

First I do have my review for Companion coming either later today or early tomorrow, it’s the last film I saw in January and by far one of the best!

The second thing is I’m going to be making a series of posts called release date roundup, where each week I’ll post about release dates that got revealed that week and talk a bit about the movies. I’ll be posting the first one this weekend, so keep an eye out for that.

Anyway February seems like an alright month for films, outside of The Monkey, Bring Them Down and The Looney Tunes movie there really isn’t anything I’m incredibly hyped for. But there’s always room for surprises, January was surprisingly not a terrible month so that could very well be the case here too! Anyway on to the list!

Most Anticipated Films Of January 2025 List + More

Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope you all had a great holiday and New Year’s Eve!

Before we begin with the January 2025 list there’s a few things I want to quickly go over.

For starters I do apologize for the large gaps of not posting that happened in 2024, so much happened during the last half of the year. Between my phone screen breaking, my computer suddenly stopped working and some family stuff it was a large mess. Luckily everything is fine now and this year I’m going to stay on top of everything.

The other thing I want to address is I’m going to be dropping the “disgrace to cinema” rating. I’ve been using it for years, ever since I was a teenager I believe. I should have dropped it years ago, it’s very immature and I have rarely used in recent years anyway. The replacement rating will probably be something like “atrocious” or “No good qualities just horrendous.”

Anyways January!! 2025 is looking to be a fantastic year for film, January of course is on the rough side of things. Most of the films on the list are ones that are 2024 films that are expanding this month, with 5/12 films that are 2025 films! This month is going to be used to finish any remaining 2024 films I haven’t seen as of yet! Anyway let’s get to the list!

Most Anticipated Films Of August 2024!

Well I’m happy to say that I’m finally caught up review wise. July was very beneficial for me so we are back on track (for the most part) I still do have a decent amount on my watchlist so I’ll be using August (since there really is not a whole lot coming out anyway) to pick off films from the watchlist (I just started Monday and yesterday) so expect some reviews tomorrow.

Anyway as for August there’s honestly not a whole lot here, outside of Alien Romulus, Cuckoo, Strange Darling, and Trap (all of which I’m very excited for) I mostly put some more films on this list simply because they sound interesting and could be fun, so everything after Trap could be a hit or miss

12. Incoming – August 23rd (Netflix)

11. Stream – August 21st (Theaters)

10. The Watchmen Chapter 1 – August 13th (VOD)

7. Hell Hole – August 23rd (Shudder)

6. Mothers Instinct – August 13th (VOD) (Yes I know this is technically a July release but it came out in July at the very last second so I thought I would just throw it on here)

5. Skincare – August 16th (Theaters)

4. Trap – August 2nd (Theaters)

3. Strange Darling – August 23rd (Theaters)

2. Alien Romulus – August 16th (Theaters)

1. Cuckoo – August 9th (Theaters)

Most Anticipated Films Of July 2024!

So I still have quite a lot of reviews to catch up on (including a few from May) which is due to me having technical difficulties and so much going on. Which is why there was not a June list, luckily things are slowly picking up again. I’m definitely going to be using July and probably parts of August as a catch up month on reviews and working my way through my watchlist.

Anyways July seems like a very strong month (my birthday is July 5th let’s go!!)

12. Chestnut – July 2nd (VOD)

2. Longlegs – July 12th (Theaters)

1. Maxxxine – July 12th (Theaters)

Most Anticipated Films Of May 2024!

April is over and now we are headed into the summer movie season. April was quite a fantastic month for film, between Challengers, Abigail, The First Omen, Hundreds Of Beavers, Sasquatch Sunset and Civil War there was so much to really love. I still have two more reviews from April (Challengers and Civil War) to post which will be posted either today or tomorrow so keep an eye out.

May looks like another really solid month, while I don’t think it’s as filled to the brim with releases as April. It makes up for it with having some of the most anticipated films of the year such as Furiosa, I Saw The TV Glow and Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Before we get into the list we have a film that I saw at Sundance last year that’s finally coming out which is…

Slow directed by Marija Kavtaradzé: it’s a beautiful showcase of intimacy and why it’s important, the performances are excellent, the film discusses and explores asexuality in a very honest and beautiful way. I said in my review that it’s the most raw and tender approach to the topic I’ve ever seen in a film and that remains true a year and four months later. So be sure to check it out when it releases in theaters May 3rd!

Now on to the list

11. Jim Henson Idea Man – May 31st (Disney+)

10. The Idea Of You – May 2nd (Amazon Prime Video)

9. Ezra – May 31st (Theaters)

8. Wildcat – May 2nd (Theaters)

7. Babes – May 17th (Theaters)

6. Robot Dreams – May 31st (Theaters)

5. The Strangers: Chapter 1 – May 17th (Theaters)

4. Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes – May 10th (Theaters)

3. In A Violent Nature – May 31st (Theaters)

2. I Saw The TV Glow – May 3rd (Limited Theaters) and May 17th (Expand Theaters)

1. Furiosa – May 24th (Theaters)

And that’s the list! Let’s have another excellent month for film!! Cheers!!
