Crazed killers Baby Firefly, Captain Spaulding and Otis Driftwood unleash bloody mayhem after escaping from prison. I know I haven’t been a huge fan of Rob Zombie lately, a lot his recent films have left me disappointed. 3 From Hell is his best movie since Devil’s Rejects, surprisingly this is one of Zombies least violent movies and isn’t a full on Rob Zombie movie. What I mean by that is it’s not so much about the style or the kills it’s more about the characters. Which I do think in some cases does help this movie as it goes on, I honestly thought Sid Haig wasn’t half bad in his role (R.I.P.) Sheri Moon Zombie….is a whole other story that I really don’t think I need to explain. The writing Is actually a little bit better written than some of Zombie’s other films but that is really not saying much. It still has those very over the top moments that get old way too quickly. As a wrap up for a trilogy it’s not too bad, I think Zombie did the most he possibly could have done with it and it was a decent effort. The movie does feel like it drags especially during the first act but it does pick up speed as it goes on, I think what kind of hurt this movie the most is that it feels way too similar to The Devil’s Reject’s which yes I get this is a sequel and there is going to be a ton of similarities. However I don’t think the movie did enough to make itself stand out, but overall it’s not a bad film if you are a huge Rob Zombie fan you are going to love this movie. It’s a very decent watch that actually surprised me. 6/10 C+
