X-Men Movies Ranked From Worst To Best

I’ve only ever seen this movie once before, so before rewatching it I was hoping by some chance that it might not be as bad as I remembered…..oh god was I wrong. Long story short X-Men Origins Wolverine is horrendous, it completely destroys everything about Logan’s character as well as a lot of other characters as well. Don’t even get me started on Deadpool this was one of those most pathetic attempts at a character I’ve seen in a movie, the special effects are horrendous which is quite hilarious because you would think that they would be far better than the ones that are in first X-men which I’ve said feel dated now however that’s not the case here. Not to mention that this movie drags on for what seems like forever, the only thing I can give this movie is Hugh Jackman is at least trying his best with such horrendous and abysmal script. Overall there is a reason why many people consider this to be the worst X-Men film and I 100% agree.

Look I don’t absolutely hate X-Men The Last Stand but it’s still a terribly dull movie that has no life put into it. Again the best parts of this movie are Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, strangely enough Kelsey Grammer really works well as Beast so it was always great to see him on screen when he got spotlight. The storytelling in this movie was a complete and total mess, it was a huge step down from the second movie and there were some piss poor decisions that were made. Also some questions that have never been answered mostly due to piss poor writing, also The Juggernaut is just laughable. I mean I remember him being bad but not THIS bad, like I how on earth do you mess up that badly?? I will say the action scenes were at least great to look at the problem is it takes way too long to get to the action scenes. Which is something I wouldn’t normally say but this movie’s story is so disorganized to the point where I just want the action scenes and call it quits. Overall the movie definitely deserves it’s title as “one of the worst X-Men movies” because it really does earn it.

I remember the day I first watched this, it was my second comic book movie I ever watched (first being the first Sam Rami Spider-Man) I have always loved this movie until I rewatched it today. Don’t get me wrong the movie still has it’s very good bits like Hugh Jackman as Logan, Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto. Long story short the movie has not aged well at all, the special effects are very outdated. The action scenes are just nowhere near as good as they were 19 years ago and the pacing in this movie is really frustrating, the villains outside Magneto aren’t exactly great. The acting is pretty okay but at times it does feel wooden, I will say the movie is very straightforward towards the last act which this movie definitely benifits from. Overall it’s not a terrible movie but it’s just not the masterpiece everyone remembers from 2000, it’s a perfectly fine watch but that’s where it really ends.

This movie is very straightforward, this is undoubtedly better than X-Men Origins Wolverine. The movie has some really great action scenes, Hugh Jackman once again kills it as Logan. The story is pretty solid as well, the movie does struggle at times with the writing and the villian isn’t really anything write home about, but the movie does just enough to entertain the audience and actually does really great job in the storytelling department. I think what this movie does best in is it knows it’s job, it’s a very straightforward movie that accomplished what it’s set out to do. Sure it’s not anything amazing like First Class, Days Of Futures past and a few others, but’s a very solid installment to the franchise.

This is most definitely a case of me being extremely hard on a movie, sure the movie does have it’s issues but it’s certainly not a terrible movie at all. For one thing James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender (especially him), Evan Peters and a few others do a pretty great job in their roles. Sure the writing could have been a little better but what we got was actually pretty strong. I do wish they could have done a lot better job with Apocalypse, I love Oscar Isaac but I feel like sometimes he makes piss poor decisions and this is one of those cases. He just wasn’t exactly good as Apocalypse he’s nowhere near as dreadful as a lot of people say he is, but he’s nothing remarkable either (I’ll take him over some of the horrible villians from the MCU.) The Movie also does take some time to get going but once it gets down to business it gets really great. The movie also does a pretty good job of having some of the other X-men have time to shine, the last act of the film is also pretty strong and actually pretty memorable. It’s no Days Of Futures Past, First Class or a few others but it’s a solid entry in the franchise.

After the disaster portrayal of Deadpool from X-Men Origins Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds returned to take on the character once more and this time he perfected it, it’s like with Hugh Jackman being born to play Wolverine. Reynolds was born to play Deadpool, the humor in this movie absolutely worked. I was a bit worried after a few rewatches the jokes would just not be very funny as they once were, but that wasn’t the case here they are still hilarious which is something I can’t say for some other movies. I do feel however there are a few problems with the movie, the villains aren’t exactly great. For one thing the acting from Ed Skrein ranges from bad to just passable and it feels like it changes within every scene he shows up. Which does become very distracting, but what this movie does have is some other great characters such as Colossus, Teenage Warhead and a few others! The movie also has some very satisfying action scenes that are really well done! Overall it’s a very solid movie, It’s the Deadpool movie we wanted for years and it accomplished just that.

The movie opens up with arguably the best scene in this movie, Nightcrawler being a badass. But then the movie kind of slows down and it does show the movie hasn’t aged well. However that’s only the first act the rest of the movie strangely holds up just fine especially the final act which is definitely one of the highlights of the movie, once again Hugh Jackaman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen do give a strong performance. Just like the other movie everyone else is great but at times the acting does feel a little wooden (besides Alan Cumming he does a great job as Nightcrawler.) the special effects do feel dated but not as dated as the first movie. If there’s something this movie is VERY strong at doing it’s the storytelling, it’s very well done, gives a lot of character development that was much needed from the first movie and it’s actually engaging. Sure there are some questionable choices that were made, but it’s overall a very great film. It’s not the masterpiece it once was but it’s still miles better than the first film and something I will definitely keep watching in the future.

I’ll keep this somewhat short, the movie does a great job on improving from the first film. The jokes are definitely much stronger, the character development is far far better. A lot of the new characters add so much to the movie such as Cable and Juggernaut (which was actually done right this time.) The movie actually had some genuinely emotional moments that are still pretty strong, if there’s one thing I have to say I didn’t like it’s that the first act isn’t as strong as the other two acts but that doesn’t make the first act bad. It’s a fantastic movie that improves from its predecessor!

This was definitely an apology letter for X-Men Origins Wolverine, because this is so much better. First Class gives us a new look at the X-Men and does a really great job at doing so, it has character development, it has some really strong action scenes and it has the introduction of James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto, you also have Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. But what I personally feel this movie does fantastic job in is the direction. Matthew Vaughn gives such a unique and beautiful direction that really drags you into the movie, it’s one of those X-Men films that I feel is criminally underrated at times because it’s overshadowed by some of the bigger movies. However this movie really stands out and definitely is one of the best of the series.

There’s a reason why this is consider one of the best of the franchise, the performances from Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are incredible strong. All of them really go all out in their roles, the storytelling here is incredibly done from the time travel, to having so many different happen in one movie. Which is something that could easily backfire but here it didn’t, mostly due to Singer’s direction which does lead to some incredible scenes such as the infamous Quicksilver scene which blew my mind when I saw it in theaters, it’s one of those rare comic book movies that really feels it brings everything out. The movie took a lot of risks and it delivered big time!

Not only is this considered the best film of the X-Men franchise it’s debatably the best comic book movie ever made, saying it’s even a comic book movie is debatable as well. I see the movie as a drama with some action it about a man who’s been through so much and he’s on his last legs. The movie hits you with so many different types of emotions, when I saw this in theaters back in 2017 I cried actual tears. I’ve watched the movie several times since then and I still shed tears, it’s just that good! Each and every death in this movie is not only gruesome but very sad as well, speaking of which the movie itself knows how to turn gruesome action scenes into something beautiful. Which is something a lot of movies comepltelt fail at doing, I’m not going to stretch on to much longer on this one. It’s a masterpiece of a film and quite honestly one of the best of the decade.
