LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation is not a trip worth going on.

Looking for a much-needed break, Finn arranges a surprise vacation for his friends Rey, Poe, Rose, Chewie, BB-8, R2-D2, and C-3PO, aboard the luxurious Halcyon. However, Finn’s plan to have one last hurrah together quickly goes awry.

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation is the third of these Lego Star Wars specials and is probably the weakest, I say probably because quite honestly there is a very little difference between this one and the last one “Terrifying Tales”. Although if I had to say which is the weakest I would go with Summer Vacation. Mainly due to the movie being more less the same thing, it reuses a lot of the same Star Wars memes that were in the last two specials and there isn’t anything really memorable here. Outside of Obi-Wan in a Hawaiian shirt and Weird Al Yankovic making an appearance. As I said about Terrifying Tales this is harmless enough for kids and is an okay distraction for 45 minutes, but that’s all it really amounts to. It’s not particularly funny either mainly due to reusing a lot of the same Star Wars memes you have probably seen on the internet 40 times.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a decent series filled with enjoyable battles.

The Jedi Master contends with the consequences of his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his one-time friend and apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is the newest Star Wars series that finished recently, the series takes place ten years after Revenge Of The Sith. We follow Obi-Wan Kenobi who’s went into hiding for awhile but is brought back up once a task to protect Princess Leia is given. I’ll start with what the series does right and the most obvious is the acting, everyone involved does a really solid job. Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan is once again brilliant, Vivien Lyra Blair as Princess Leia is actually pretty charming and captures some of the mannerisms that Leia would go on to have. Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader is fantastic and James Earl Jones doing his iconic voice for Vader is brilliant as ever, this series really makes Vader quite terrifying and shows just how intimidating he always has been as a villain. Lastly there’s Moses Ingram who does a solid job as Reva, the filming is quite nice combined with the atmosphere the film gives. If there’s a major thing the series lacked on is it doesn’t really feel complete, there’s some characters that could have easily gotten more development had it not been only 6 episodes. There’s definitely parts of the writing where they hint at the idea of diving a little deeper but never fully go through with it, the finale is definitely the standout as there is a very strong final battle that the series has been building up to. Some of the action scenes during the series are quite great, one notable one is Obi-Wan first meeting Darth Vader. That’s the one that truly made Vader terrifying, overall Obi-Wan Kenobi is not a bad series! It’s by far one of the better Star Wars TV series to come out and is pretty enjoyable for what it is.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales is great for kids but could have been much more.

Dean, Poe and BB-8 must face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.

Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales is about about the same as the Lego Holiday Special from last year. Only that I prefer the Holiday Special a bit more, the main problem with Terrifying Tales is it’s not very funny at all. I like that Poe Dameron was a main focus in this special whenever he was on screen it was always pretty solid. The three stories are all just average, none of them really standout in any special ways. I will say that this is a pretty good special for kids, it’s completely harmless and does get the job done. However for everyone else you sadly will not get that here, sure the animation is very nice to look at and there are some jokes that work. But a majority of them are a huge miss or just aren’t funny at all.

The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special (2020)


Rey leaves her friends to prepare for Life Day as she sets off on an adventure to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure. Will she make it back in time for Life Day?


I debated if I should even count this as a film and add it to my 2020 movies count. But since a lot of people are counting it I might as well, it’s only 48 minutes long which for what it is the movie is fine enough. There’s tons of Star Wars memes thrown in the film such as “Hello there!” To my surprise they actually got Kelly Marie Tran to voice Rose, it’s actually pretty nice to see although her part isn’t that big. What this movie really reminds me of is when I was like 8-10 years old I use to make storylines with my action figures. That’s the vibe this movie gives off which is not a bad thing at all, in fact in this case I think it works well. The movie is clearly not going for a serious tone, the comedy is a hit or miss some of it works and some of it doesn’t. It really comes down to if your a huge Star Wars fan or not, because a lot of it is Star Wars oriented humor. But overall The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special is very straightforward and gets to the point quickly, I can’t see myself ever watching this again but for a first time watch it’s passable.

Star Wars Episode IX The Rise Of Skywalker (2019)


After Palpatine mysteriously returns, the Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.

Before I begin as always this will be a NO SPOILER REVIEW hope you enjoy! Let me just get down right to it and say this was the biggest disappointment of 2019, I’m not saying the movie is bad. In fact it does have some good things about it that do standout, the problem is this movie completely ignores everything on what made The Last Jedi and partly The Force Awakens so great. I’ll start with what I liked, the acting was overall not too bad. That goes for pretty much everyone in the film, they all did a really solid job Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac being the standouts. The filming was just as good as it usually was with these movies and the action scenes were pretty well done and a lot of fun to look at. Unfortunately what holds this movie back is a number of problems stacked up on each other….the writing, way too many plot holes and completely scrapping everything on what made the previous movies great. The writing seriously felt way too safe, I often complain about movies being way too safe with the writing but this is the biggest example of it. The movie doesn’t really explore any characters all that well as The Last Jedi did, sure there are a few character moments here and there but just not as much as the movie needed. The writing led to several plot holes which is very unfortunate, since the movie does pretty much scrap everything from The Last Jedi it leads to a lot of plot holes that are never explained. The fan service got old way too quickly, it’s perfectly fine if you want to throw in a few Easter eggs or some fan service into your movies, however when you overdo it that’s when it becomes a problem. It felt like the fan service took over the movie and that was pretty much what the movie was riding on, which again is not a good thing. Overall like I said before I wouldn’t necessarily call The Rise Of Skywalker a bad movie just a very disappointing movie that I seriously wanted to like badly..

The Rest of The Star Wars Films quick thoughts!

I remember the very first time I watched this film and having my mind blown, still to this very day I still do! It’s one of those films you just can’t copy. From the beautiful music, to so many memorable moments mine personally being when Luke looks out at the sun. It’s just some of the most beautiful stuff ever put on film, the acting is really strong, the writing is creative and works really well! Darth Vader is one of the best villains ever in a film, the movie does everything that great film should do! The film is mind blowing from beginning to end and deserves to be called one of the greatest films of all time.

Do I really need to say why this film is a masterpiece? What can really be said? The film takes what was mastered in A New Hope and expands on it, it adds darker themes, more characters that are just as memorable, some more fantastic music and more memorable moments, the special effects still hold up to this very day! It’s another one of those films where it’s absolutely no wonder the film is considered one of the best films ever made, it’s a film that really changed how sequels in other franchises would be and proves that a sequel can be better than a first film in a franchise.

Although I do like Empire Srikes Back better, this movie still does a fantastic job of wrapping of the trilogy, the acting is really strong, the writing is really well done. The characters are once again very well developed, the action scenes are full of energy and some are actually quite suspenseful, the final battle between Luke and Darth Vader is absolutely well done. It does what a ending of a trilogy should do and does it correctly!

While yes the movie does copy a lot of A New Hope the movie manages to be fantastic at the same time, it introduces new characters that are really well done such as Rey, Poe, Kylo Ren and Finn. Plus the movie brings in veteran characters which it just feels glorious to see all of them as they appear throughout the film, I remember back when I saw this in theaters in 2015 being one of my favorite theater experiences and the film is just that. The acting is really strong, the writing is really well done and the direction is incredible!

Back in 2015 The Force Awakens introduced the new trilogy, this movie not only surpasses The Force Awakens (which I absolutely loved) but it takes the franchise itself in a new direction. The way the characters are developed in this movie especially Luke, Rey and Kylo Ren make this more of a character study but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Because this movie does it so well It never makes you lose interest at all. The cinematography was seriously well done, it felt like a huge open world and they took advantage of it. The action scenes were some of the best action scenes I have seen this year, they were so well done, so brilliantly shot and actually really suspenseful as well! The movie does have a few comedic relief moments but you know what they are actually not terribly done, heck I even laughed at them. Rian Johnson definitely knows how to make majority of the movie a darker storyline but also to put some comedic relief when it’s necessary. It’s not like in some of the Marvel movies where they just throw in comedy every 5 seconds, here it’s only every once in awhile resulting in not that many times. Then there’s the powerful scenes which trust me there are a lot of them, which I won’t say what they are because this is a non spoiler review. But I will say that once these scenes did appear I’m not going to lie I shed a few tears, finally the characters in this movie were excellent I’m glad Oscar Isaac got a lot more screen time in the movie because his character was actually one of my favorites! Even some of the other characters I didn’t mention before got a whole lot of development such as Leia and Poe! Overall Star Wars The Last Jedi is one of my favorites of the franchise and definitely one of the best.

Rogue meh

This is definitely one of those movies I feel like a lot of people (myself included) really overlooked some heavy flaws, while yes the ending is genius and honestly really well done. The first two acts are way too slow. The first and second were just not that well put together, it had a bunch of not really interesting characters that show up for about 10-15 minutes and then get killed off. The score is also not that great, especially for a Star Wars movie it’s very lacking. I mean the prequels had some really solid music so what’s this film’s excuse? Plus I hate to copy what I said about the villain from Solo but the villain in this movie Orson Krennic is another discount Tarkin. I mean heck when they are both on screen together it’s very easy to see how much better Tarkin is. I will say the bits with Vader were definitely the highlights, the final act was one huge battle and it was actually really great. It had some tense moments and some pretty decent dialogue. The acting is overall not too bad and same goes for the writing, I just wish some of the characters were a lot more interesting. Overall Rogue One isn’t a bad movie but when you really look at it, it’s really not as good as a lot of people give it credit for.

Solo is a very underrated film in the Star Wars franchise!

Man did I do this movie wrong, I was very interested to see if I would like it more on a rewatch or would I still have the same thoughts…it turns out that I was completely wrong about this movie. Maybe it’s because I was expecting this to be as good as The Last Jedi or something, but gosh this movie is actually pretty darn great. First off I was completely wrong about Aiden Ehrenreich the guy does a wonderful job as Han Solo, he captures what makes Han Solo so great. He has the sarcastic attitude and is actually pretty badass throughout the film, Donald Glover as Lando is just genius casting the guy not only captures Lando’s character he slays it. Another thing I was very wrong about was Woody Harrelson as Beckett, I actually found Beckett interesting sure he may come off as the typical mentor character like Qui- Gon but there’s just something about his character that I loved. Maybe it’s just that Woody Harrelson is just such a good actor he makes the character interesting. I still stand by what I said about Dryden Vos however, he still does feel like a discount Tarkin and is definitely one of the weaker Star Wars villains. The acting is overall really great, the writing is pretty solid and the visuals are really well done! Solo might not be Empire Strikes Back or a few others in the franchise, but it is definitely a really great film and definitely the most underrated of the series.

The Best of the prequels by far!

I’m not going to sugarcoat it….I love this movie. I feel like this movie gets unfairly bashed just because it’s part of the prequels, for one thing this is hands down the best of the prequels. The movie completely throws out the comedic relief and stupid moments that were present in the other two films and brings in this much darker atmosphere that should have been around in the other two prequels. Remember how I said in my Attack Of The Clones review that Hayden Christensen’s acting is justified in Revenge Of The Sith? Well it’s justified because it really matches what the film is going for a man who is slowly but surely going insane, is basically being controlled and manipulated by Palpatine and is destroying and killing (or trying to kill) everything he once loved. It’s honestly astonishing to see how you go from something as ridiculous as Phantom Menace to this. The acting is also a lot better this time around Ewan McGregor does a fantastic job, Ian McDiarmid kills the role as Palpatine, I also really liked Matthew Wood as General Grievous and much more. There’s also tons of memorable scenes in this movie such as the final act battles with Obi-Wan Vs Anakin, Palpatine Vs Yoda and a few others! I can perfectly understand why some people would not like this movie, but for me this is definitely one of my favorite Star Wars films and one I would gladly watch again anytime!

Attack of The Boredom

This is the movie I consider to be the worst of all the Star Wars films, I know a lot of people consider Phantom Menace to be the worst but at least Phantom Menace had things in it that are actually good (The Pod Race, Duel Of Fates, Liam Neeson, Darth Maul, the battle with Darth Maul and a few other things). This movie on the other hand doesn’t have many things going for it, Ewan McGregor is a lot better than he was in Phantom Menace so that’s good at least. Also Christopher Lee did a pretty good job as Count Dooku, Yoda, and finally Samuel L Jackson as Mace Windu. Unfortunately that’s where all the good stuff ends, because good god this movie has so many damn problems it’s not even funny. The writing is one of the major problems which we all know one famous line that’s easily the worst “I hate sand” what makes it worse is he had no reason to say that it just came right out of nowhere. Hayden Christian is easily the worst actor in this movie (at least in Revenge Of The Sith the way he acts makes a lot more sense but I’ll get to more details on that next time), he puts very little emotions in his role and it really just makes Anakin come off as a whiny tool. The final battle in this movie I liked a lot as a kid, but now looking back on it the battle is really not that special. The battle isn’t that long and nothing really interesting happens during it at all. Which is a shame too Christopher Lee definitely deserved better, lastly there were so many uninteresting scenes such as the scenes with Anakin and Padme I didn’t feel like I was watching Star Wars I felt like I was watching a terrible romance movie. Overall Attack Of The Clones has very few likable things in it and is definitely the worst of the franchise…
