The Irishman (2019)

A mob hitman recalls his possible involvement with the slaying of Jimmy Hoffa. This will be a NO SPOILER REVIEW! So as like some other movies I reviewed I’ll keep this on brief but to the point! Anyway The Irishman was development hell for a very long time (I believe since 2014) but my goodness the wait was worth it, to start out with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci all do a fantastic job, the chemistry between all of them is just so well done and very believable. The writing is some of the best this movie has to offer, it feels very raw and drags you into the movie making you wonder what’s going to happen. The direction by Martin Scorsese is masterful, he really captures the time period this all took place in plus the final act displays Scorsese’s talent at full force. The movie is incredibly well done between the filming, editing and so on, it honestly feels like you are in that time period! As I said before the third act really shows an incredible amount of talent, it really shows all types of emotions, situations and regrettable decisions. The music also captures the time period very well it screams 70s which is really great to see! The Irishman is 3 and half hours long, however the movie doesn’t not feel that long at all. It’s one of those movies that really suck you into the film and you do not feel the running time at all! Overall The Irishman is a must watch, it’s hands down one of the best films of the year!!
10/10 A+
